Today’s students must be prepared to thrive in a constantly evolving technological landscape. This presentation aims to empower students to be prepared and mostly aware that living with science, technology and innovation is fundamental, even when you are not a scientist.
CV - Clara Gonçalves
"Clara Gonçalves is an Innovation and Technology Believer, with a big expertise in worldwide knowledge networks, involving academic communities, corporates and startups. She has a degree in Agricultural Engineering in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and a Specialization in Innovation, Knowledge and Entrepreneurship from the Department of Economics, Management and Industrial Engineering of the University of Aveiro. In 2020 she started an Executive MBA at Erasmus University - Rotterdam School of Management being awarded by the Scholarship Awards Committee with a Scholarship as a selected winner of the Women in Leadership. (The MBA was postponed due to the pandemic crisis). Clara is currently Co-founder of a Scientific Machine Learning startup, Inductiva Research Labs assuming the position of Director of Strategy and Partnerships. In last 14 years, she worked as Finance and Foresight Group Leader at the Fraunhofer Institute in Portugal, she was also Head of Innovation and Technology Transfer at the Innovation Center of the School of Medicine of the University of Minho and Executive Director of UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, implementing an effective model of knowledge and technology transfer between academia and companies, supporting more than 500 technology-based start-ups and spin-offs and attracting around 30 Innovation Centers from national and international companies to the University of Porto ecosystem. She is currently member of the Steering Committee and main organizer of the “Future of Computing” Summer School, Vice President of ENSICO – Computing at School and member of the Advisory Board of Firefly Innovations, a Public Health Entrepreneurial Platform managed by City University New York and the IE Business School in Madrid. She is also a member and alumni of the US State Department, within the 2016 diplomacy program IVLP - International Visitor Leadership Program.
In 2018 she was awarded “Champion of the Year 2018” by the Business and Innovation Network (BIN), a knowledge network between the University of Porto, the University of São Paulo and the University of Sheffield."
