While fostering advances and innovations in measurement science, including the challenging areas of human and social measurements, the Joint IMEKO TC1-TC7-TC13-TC18 Symposium 2022 encourages the integration of paired measurement science concepts, empowering a new dialogue between scholars, researchers, students, regulators and professionals devoted to the art and science of measurements. The multi-inter-and-transdisciplinary character of the symposium shall certainly contribute to a mature reflection about the importance and responsibility of reliable measurements needed to improve the global quality of life, standard of living, while ensuring human and environmental health.

This year we will join forces with the MATHMET community to embrace together the challenges of cutting-edge measurement, namely in advanced medical measurement applications that often require the use of Artificial Intelligence tools. Two other pressing topics are measurement uncertainty training at different levels of complexity and the need for quality assurance in software development.
