Alexandre Bragança holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technologies in the knowledge field of Programming Engineering and Information Systems from the University of Minho. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and a degree in computer engineering from the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
He has more than 20 years of industry experience managing software development teams and leading projects in fields such as domain-specific languages and workflow engines. His actual main research interests regard model driven engineering and domain-specific languages in the context of low-code platforms and software product lines. He has collaborated and lead several national and international research projects in those topics. He has authored several publications in those fields and has co-supervised 2 PhDs, supervised more than 20 master dissertations, and more than 100 final graduation projects.
Alexandre has been teaching at the Informatics Department of the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto since 1993 at several positions, teaching courses mainly in computer science, with particular focus on software engineering. He holds a position of Coordinating Professor at the Department of Informatics of ISEP since 2020.
