The INSPECDRONE project focuses on the detection of anomalies in the external envelope of industrial buildings, using artificial intelligence techniques supported by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The project objectives are as follows:
1. Development of an experimental methodology for the automatic detection of anomalies, namely the presence of corrosion spots, panel damage, water accumulation areas, insulation failures, and waterproofing membrane leakage, all in the external envelope (roofs and façades) of industrial buildings. Additional targets may include missing fasteners and the occurrence of façade staining or streaking.
2. Development of advanced techniques for the analysis and processing of georeferenced images, collected with thermal and RGB cameras mounted on UAVs. The methodology is intended to accurately identify the location of anomalies, anticipate maintenance interventions, enable periodic updates of the anomaly register, and monitor their temporal evolution.
3. Three-dimensional and photogrammetric reconstruction of the building’s external envelope using dedicated software.
