AGRIMA aims to foster universities’ capacity building for the green transition through innovative practices and higher education (HE) curricula updating in agri-food waste management for the circular bioeconomy.
The AGRIMA project focuses on the green transition by raising HE students’ awareness of agri-food waste management that will lead to the consensual development of behavioural changes and new mindsets towards circular bio-economies. Therefore, AGRIMA aspires to achieve a social transformation towards a more sustainable economy and society, besides environmental protection.
The project addresses:
1. Advancing pedagogical methods for industrial agri-food waste valorisation based on business-academia synergies. 2. Integrating citizen science in bio-economy-enhanced waste valorisation as a means of civic engagement and environmental advocacy.
AGRIMA includes 30 activities that are grouped into 4 work packages (WPs):
WP1 - Project management (QA, communication, sustainability): 11 activities WP2 - Innovation in teaching and learning: waste valorisation: 6 activities WP3 - Business-academia innovation: 4 activities WP4 - Civic engagement and advocacy for sustainable waste valorisation: 9 activities.
