The FERROVIA 4.0 project will present the obtained results in a public demonstration, July 20, 11h – 17h, at Auditório Magno, ISEP.
The FERROVIA 4.0 project aims to address the technological and market challenges that have faced the global railway sector, stimulating a mobilizing collective action around a wide range of companies and entities of the R&I System that are part of the Portuguese Railway Platform Cluster, in carrying out innovative industrial research activities that enhance the experimental development and demonstration of new solutions capable of promoting greater operational capacity, sustainability and competitiveness in railway systems. The project’s overall objective is to develop different components, tools and systems, to be tested on rolling stock and real infrastructures, which are oriented towards the economic and ecological sustainability of the railway system, to reduce operational and maintenance costs; for reliable information systems to support decision-making in asset management and for the creation of security systems capable of monitoring infrastructure and triggering alerts and protection/intervention measures. It is also the project’s ambition to ensure that cybersecurity technologies and methodologies are incorporated into the railway system’s information and communication technology structure, in order to avoid unwanted intrusions.
FERROVIA 4.0 was funded by the National Innovation Agency under grant POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046111.
SoftCPS participated in the PPS4 (Communications and Cybersecurity), leading the activity of specification of the Edge Computing Platform.
