MATISSE project meets at ISEP

The MATISSE consortium convened in Porto from September 23–25, 2025 for a productive and energizing plenary meeting at ISEP.  The meeting brought together participants from the project’s partner organisations, from Austria, France, Italy, Finland, Portugal, Sweden, and Turkey, creating a valuable opportunity for face-to-face exchange and alignment on next-phase activities.

The meeting included sessions on the architecture of MATISSE’s digital twin framework and the model-based engineering work stream, as well as use case scenario presentations. Through these sessions, partners clarified their respective roles, dependencies and timelines, and discussed challenges such as federating digital twins across industrial domains, automating model-based processes and ensuring continuous verification and validation. A project hackathon provided a lively interactive component, allowing smaller teams to prototype ideas and exchange feedback in real-time, enhancing technical synergy.

Beyond the structured sessions, the Porto meeting succeeded in reinforcing the collaborative culture of the project. The setting in Porto allowed for informal interactions, over coffee breaks, lunches and dinners, that helped deepen connections and cross-partner understanding. With the program’s close aligned to both technical updates and community-building, the partners left Porto with renewed energy, clearer commitments and a stronger shared vision for realizing the project’s mission of advancing digital twin engineering in industry.
