The FireBIM project, developed in partnership between the iBuilt team at ISEP and 22 partners from five countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Lithuania, Denmark, and Portugal), aims to harmonize and implement fire safety regulations of the participating countries in an open-source, web-based BIM platform. This platform will allow fire safety assessment, facilitating documentation and (inter)national compliance verification from the early stages of design.

With this approach, it will be possible to collectively interpret fire safety regulations and automatically verify building compliance with the applicable standards. As a result, design teams will be digitally assisted, enabling them to design safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective buildings.
