Gathering - "Post-Covid Era: What lessons can we learn from the pandemics of the past"

To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group of the Student Branch of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), on the 19th of December 2020, an online gathering on the topic "Post-Covid Era: What lessons can we learn from the pandemics of the past" was held.

The IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group of the Student Branch of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) celebrated its 1st anniversary, on the 19th of December, at 10:00 am.

The organizers intended to mark it symbolically with a gathering that had the theme “Post-Covid Era: What lessons can we learn from the pandemics of the past?”

The celebration included an introductory presentation “The pandemics in the past: the flu of 1918/19” carried out by Doctor Helena da Silva, historian and researcher at the Contemporary History Institute of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (IHC-NOVA-FCSH). After the presentation, a gathering was held on the previously mentioned theme.

The invited guests participated within the scope of the “round table”, with a virtual discussion about where future development opportunities are intended, and their impact in technological, economic, social terms, but also in terms of engineering education and professional skills.
